Open Casting

In the open casting process, materials such as IsoGel®, PU, TPE or silicone are “poured” into an open mold.

Pittsburgh Plastics Manufacturing can open cast dual durometer parts, as well as multiple similar or dissimilar materials.

Open casting is utilized in the manufacturing of many of our foot care products

Injection Molding

Injection molding is a manufacturing process that allows us to handle a wide variety of materials. It accommodates single- and multi-cavity moldproduction for IsoGel®, other thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), thermoplastic urethanes (TPUs), nylon, polyethylene and polystyrene. It includes these steps:

• Heating of material to “plastic flow” temperatures
• Injection of material, under pressure, through sprues into the mold cavity
• Simultaneous heating and cooling of molds to balance plastic flow and part solidification

THERMOFORMING
